Dominique was on a night out in Preston, where she lives, when she realised she had lost her bank card. After witnessing this, a good samaritan/homeless guy offered her his last £3 to get home safely in a taxi.

Even though the marketing student didn’t take up the offer, she was so touched by this that she posted a status on Facebook. Soon, she realised that she wasn’t the only one who Robbie, the homeless guy, had helped. Previously, he had returned a wallet to a pedestrian and given someone his scarf as they were cold.

Dominique then decided she wanted to do something to help this guy out, so she set up a GoGetFunding page and a facebook in order to raise funds with the goal of helping Robbie get his own flat. In order to raise money she also went and spent 24-hours on the street, just like a homeless person would have to do.

She has so far exceeded her target of £500 – with the last reported donations said to be an astonishing £20,000. Since then the website has actually crashed with so many people trying to donate!!

What a wonderful story, especially at a time of year that is meant to be about giving and sharing. Karma in it’s best form.
